The beautiful Isle of Mull, often known as Eagle Island, lies off the west coast of Scotland. The island’s main town is Tobermory, made famous by the television shows of Balamory and Springwatch. The island is full of contrasts – high mountains and deep misty glens; peaceful white sandy beaches and rocky shores and green hillsides with jewel-bright flowers.
Mull has something to please everyone. The artist and photographer will find a multitude of picturesque places to capture in their own way. The nature lover will be astonished at the huge variety of flora and fauna. You can see the famous White Tailed Sea Eagle, Golden Eagle, Otters, Dolphins, Seals and Whales to name just a few. This is a birdwatchers paradise. Hill walking or pony trekking; sailing, fishing or diving these are here for you to enjoy.
Possibilities for day trips are endless – the sacred Isle of Iona is a short ferry journey from Fionnphort in the Ross of Mull. Staffa with Fingal’s cave and the Treshnish Isles, famous for their birdlife, are easily reached from Mull. There are many historic beauty spots such as Glengorm Castle and Duart Castle, ancient seat of the MacLeans.
